I'm the Mum and Nanny behind Rumble Pit Studio. For years I've operated the real big rigs out on the mine site — the huge dump trucks and machines most kids only ever get to point at from the car window.
My books are inspired by my love and passion for my job in mining and civil construction. I want to help little ones understand what their Mummy or Daddy does when they're away at work — and to dream about maybe doing it themselves one day.
I've always loved children's characters and having a bit of fun, so I set out to build a bright, colourful world of my own. The Rumble Pit Crew — Ernie, Dizzy and friends — are my own original characters, dreamed up for the little machine-lovers and big dreamers in my own family. This one's dedicated to every child who misses their Mummy or Daddy while they're away at work.
